A prenuptial agreement is made for sake of legal protection of what husband and wife want to agree on in the household. The prenuptial agreement is regulated in Article 29 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of Law number 1 of 1974 which was renewed by Law Number 16 of 2019 Article 47 paragraph 1. This study aims to identify and analyze the reasons for society and the factors that cause society in the Sleman Regency area, there are not many prenuptial agreements. The legal research method used is normative-juridical. Data collection techniques based on primary data conducted by interview and secondary data conducted by literature study. Data analysis techniques were obtained from library and field research, then analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis methods. The results of the sudy indicate that the prenuptial agreement refers to the provisions contained in the Marriage Act.
