Canada and the European Union (EU) signed the much anticipated Canada‐EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) in Brussels on October 30, 2016. Some last minute opposition from the Belgian region of Wallonia was overcome to bring the free trade agreement one step closer to becoming a reality.
