Woods Road is a rural 2-lane collector road, which runs from Manchester Road on the north, to south of State Route 109. Flash flooding on Woods Road has occurred several times in the past and seems to be more frequent due to recent, heavy rainfall events. Woods Road Is located in a valley adjacent to a tributary of Hamilton Creek. Most of the watershed is wooded and undeveloped and it includes ten (10) separate drainage structures which handle stormwater along Woods Road. Many of these drainage structures are under-sized by current engineering practice. During heavy rainfall, debris and timber are washed down the basin, and into the channel. The extensive debris clogs the undersized drainage structures, which exasperates the flooding. As a result, stormwater bypasses the creek, or other crossroad culverts, and inundates Woods Road.
