Contract Type FiledJune 2nd, 2018Staff in the Division of Title I and Early Childhood Programs and Services (DTECPS) has been searching for property to host an early learning regional site to expand high-quality, full-day, early childhood programs and services in Montgomery County. Working with staff in the Department of Facilities Management (DFM) and the Montgomery County Department of General Services, DTECPS has identified space at the former MacDonald Knolls Elementary School, located at 10611 Tenbrook Drive, Silver Spring, Maryland. The early learning regional site will function as an Early Learning Center serving approximately 98 prekindergarten children, including students with disabilities, as well as 18 3-year-old students with disabilities. The former MacDonald Knolls Elementary School also currently houses The Arc of Montgomery County, which supports children with disabilities. As co-occupants of the facility, The Arc and DTECPS will offer complementary services to the community.
