The Parties are agreed that the general purpose of this Agreement is to promote harmonious industrial relations in the mutual interest of the Company and its employees; to provide for the operation of the Mine under methods which will ensure the safety, health and welfare of the employees; the highest level of economy and efficiency of operations, and quantity and quality of output, orderliness of mine and plant; to maintain an uninterrupted operation at the highest level of performance; to provide orderly collective bargain ing relations between the Company and the Union, to secure prompt and equitabledisposition of grievances, and to maintainmutually satisfactory hours, wages and working conditions for the employees covered by this Agreement.
