SCOPE OF WORKService Agreement • February 15th, 2019
Contract Type FiledFebruary 15th, 2019Every year in California, Child Welfare Services (CWS) agencies receive thousands of reports alleging abuse and/or neglect of children. In each instance, CWS workers must make decisions that balance the important values of child safety and family integrity. To help CWS workers make these decisions consistently, California initiated the Structured Decision Making® (SDM) project in 1998. The SDM® was initially piloted in seven California counties and over the last two decades, California counties have transitioned from other assessment systems to the SDM®. The SDM® suite of tools have been used in all 58 counties in California since July 2016 to assess the safety and risk of system- impacted children more consistently and reliably.
