Teaching Assistant Guidelines: Faculty may not hire TAs with their own resources; only college employees or volunteers who are registered with the college should be in the classroom or have access to student records. The TA may not be enrolled in the course for which they are assisting.TAs should be used only in support of the faculty and should not supplant instructional responsibilities. All grade and grade complaint discussions should be held with instructor and student (not TA).NOTE: At no time should faculty provide college login information (Canvas email, etc.) to TAs. Types of activities that TAs may be involved in include: Using answer keys to mark student papers (using SID numbers). Taking class attendance and assisting with class discussions.Providing individual assistance through tutoring hours on campus. Responding to student questions via email (always include faculty). Responding to student questions on a Canvas discussion board.Assisting instructor in supervising lab act
