In September this year, the formation of a new, united and overarching society, the European Academy of Neurology (EAN), was signed into agreement at the European Federation of Neurological Sciences (EFNS) congress in Budapest, Hungary. The foundation of the EAN, which will bring together the current European Neurological Society (ENS) and the EFNS, will create a strengthened and revitalised platform for neurology in Europe and is a wel- come move, not only for European neurologists but also for neurological research and practice around the world.
