Pakistan and Afghanistan are signatories to a bilateral agreement on transit trade, which allows Afghanistan two-way transit through Pakistan. This agreement may be seen in conjunction with the Transit Transport Framework Agreement, abbreviated TTFA, signed among Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan and the Central Asian Republics (CARs). TTFA has been sponsored by the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
