On 22 September 2010, the European Parliament adopted the final text of the proposal for a Regulation establishing a European Authority for Insurance and Occupational Pensions (EIOPA). EIOPA shall replace the Committee of Euro- pean Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors and take over existing and ongoing tasks from CEIOPS.
