Community learning agreements, sometimes referred to as ‘ground rules for discussion’ are a set of agreements that communicate welcoming and provide for an equitable chance to participate in the space. A group should collaboratively work to set agreements, while considering how to hold one another compassionately accountable. It is especially important to center the needs of marginalized voices in this space. Agreements should be objective and observable, and actionable. Set guidelines for engagement together and revisit them regularly. They can be modified at any time. Maintaining them is a group responsibility.
