To broach these difficult, yet necessary conversations, it is imperative that we each employ compassion and take a moment to reflect before responding to others’ thoughts, perspectives, experiences, and opinions. Particularly, as the racial/ethnic composition of the Psychology Department is predominantly White, we are all encouraged to be mindful of the longstanding minority stress that individuals of minoritized backgrounds experience on a regular basis.
