Pursuant to R.I.G.L § 39-26.1-7(f), National Grid1 is enclosing five (5) copies of the unexecuted draft of the Transmission Facilities Purchase Agreement (the “Agreement”) between National Grid and Deepwater Wind Block Island Transmission, LLC (“Deepwater”) for the Division’s review and consent. The statute provides that National Grid may, at its option, elect to “own, operate, or otherwise participate in the transmission cable project”2 connecting the Town of New Shoreham to the mainland of the state, and in such event will provide an unexecuted copy of the transmission facilities purchase agreement to the Division for consent to execution. The Agreement provides that Deepwater has begun the process of developing the transmission cable as contemplated by R.I.G.L. § 39-26.1-7(f), and that the Company intends to construct, own, and operate the transmission cable and related facilities (collectively, the “Transmission Facilities”) from the Town of Narragansett to Block Island.
