After you’ve been medically cleared and are now ready to move forward with egg donation, you’ll enter into a separate legal agreement with the intended parents. This contract is designed to protect your rights while you are undergoing the egg donation and your future rights in regards to your eggs, embryos and future children. Your contract is going to cover things taking place before, during, and after the cycle, and it will explain all the details about what is required of you and the intended parents, as well as the rights you’ll both have and any other specifics you both agree to. While the agreement you signed with Cofertility was written in “plain English,” the separate agreement with intended parents may have some more formal legalese. However, do not worry. We realize it can sometimes be overwhelming to read a document like this through for the first time, so we made this guide to help you know what to expect.
