Per Utah Code Ann. Section 41-6A-1406, if a vehicle is removed or impounded by an order of a peace officer or law enforcement agency, the tow truck operator is required to report the removal and impoundment to the state’s Motor Vehicle Division. To facilitate this process, a database and corresponding Internet interface has been created for the submission, storage, and retrieval of this information (Utah Code Ann. Section 41-6A-1406).
