Accessible Vehicle definition

Accessible Vehicle means a motor vehicle designed and manufactured, or converted, for the purpose of transporting persons who use mobility aids;

Accessible Vehicle means an Accessible Airport Public Transportation Vehicle or an Accessible Taxicab that are Motor Vehicles originally constructed or subsequently modified to permit the loading, transportation and off loading of those individuals confined to a wheelchair, or similar device used to assist the Disabled, without transfer and which Motor Vehicles comply otherwise subject to federal and provincial legislation applicable to the transportation of a Disabled Passenger;

Accessible Vehicle means an Accessible Cab or an Accessible Private Vehicle for Hire or both as the context requires;

• If at any time after the OTV Activation Date such medallion is restricted by law or rule of the Commission to use with an Accessible Vehicle, the owner of such medallion must purchase an AOTV or lease such medallion for use with an AOTV.

Accessible Vehicle means a motor vehicle that is designed or modified to be used for the purpose of transporting persons with disabilities and which motor vehicle complies with R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 629, R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 611 and Canadian Standards Association Standard D409, as may be amended from time to time;

Accessible Vehicle means vehicles which comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) accessibility standards for transportation vehicles or other requirements for accessible vehicles under the ADA or other applicable state or federal authority.

Accessible Vehicle means a motor vehicle originally constructed or subsequently modified to permit the loading, transportation and off-loading of those individuals confined to a wheelchair, or similar device used to assist the disabled, without transfer and such motor vehicle shall comply with the federal and provincial legislation applicable to the transportation of a disabled passenger. Accessible vehicles shall be equipped with a non- skid ramp and sufficient wheelchair “tie downs” to accommodate the number of disabled persons the vehicle is capable of carrying.

Accessible Vehicle means a taxicab that includes a ramp and other features to allow a wheelchair user to board safely and independently, if able to do so, and to ride safely. Such features shall comply with the relevant laws including the U.S. Department of Transportation regulations implementing the Americans with Disabilities Act contained in 49C.F.R. § 38.23.
