Act of Terrorism definition

Act of Terrorism means an act, including but not limited to the use of force or violence, by any person or group(s) of persons, whether acting alone or on behalf of or in connection with any organization or government(s) which is committed for political, religious, ideological, or ethnic purposes or reasons including the intention to influence any government and/or to put the public, or any section of the public, in fear.
Act of Terrorism means a willful and deliberate act that is all of the following:
Act of Terrorism means an act of any person directed towards the overthrowing or influencing of any government de jure or de facto, or the inducement of fear in or the disruption of the economic system of any society, by force or by violence, including (i) the hijacking or destruction of any conveyance (including an aircraft, vessel, or vehicle), transportation infrastructure or building, (ii) the seizing or detaining, and threatening to kill, injure, or continue to detain, or the assassination of, another individual, (iii) the use of any (a) biological agent, chemical agent, or nuclear weapon or device, or (b) explosive or firearm, with intent to endanger, directly or indirectly, the safety of one or more individuals or to cause substantial damage to property and (iv) a credible threat, attempt, or conspiracy to do any of the foregoing.

  • Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary within this Contract or any endorsement thereto, it is agreed that this Contract excludes loss, damage, cost, or expense directly or indirectly caused by, contributed to by, resulting from, or arising out of or in connection with any Act of Terrorism, as defined herein, regardless of any other cause or event contributing concurrently or in any other sequence to the loss.

  • The Reinsurer’s liability in respect of Ultimate Net Loss amounts recoverable hereunder for an Act of Terrorism (as defined in the definition of “Act of Terrorism”) occurring during the term of this Contract shall not exceed $40,000,000.

  • As such, pursuant to 6 U.S.C. 443(b) of the SAFETY Act and 6 C.F.R. 25.5(e), each Party shall be responsible for losses, including business interruption losses, that such Party sustains (and for losses that its employees sustain) resulting from an activity resulting from an Act of Terrorism when the Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology(s) has been deployed in defense against or response to or recovery from such Act of Terrorism.

  • This term shall mean an Occurrence arising out of any Act of Terrorism, as described in paragraphs (1) and (2) below.

  • Material Change in the Reinsured’s Underwriting Practices that materially increases the Reinsured’s underwriting exposure to a Loss Occurrence arising from an Act of Terrorism.

Act of Terrorism means the use of force or violence or the threat of such, intended to cause or resulting in property damage, personal injury or disturbance, or action which endangers human life or property when the action is directed against an individual, property or authority, and its expressed or otherwise obvious aim is the attainment of financial, ethnic, nationalist, political, racial, religious or other goals.
