Alternative Investments definition

Alternative Investments means investments in the said State which are within the ability and competence of the Company or of corporations which are related to the Company for the purposes of the Companies (Western Australia) Code and which are approved by the Minister from time to time as alternative investments for the purpose of this Agreement (which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld in the case of an investment which would add value or facilitate the addition of value, beyond mining, to the mineral resources of the said State);”;
Alternative Investments means any agreement, instrument or other transaction issued or entered into by the Issuer pursuant to which the Issuer has an obligation for the payment or repayment of money and/or to deliver or redeliver securities which is specified in the relevant Constituting Instrument constituting the same to be an “Alternative Investment” of the Issuer.
Alternative Investments means any indebtedness in respect of moneys borrowed or raised by the Issuer (other than in the form of Securities) on terms similar to the Securities (in particular as to limited recourse and extinguishment of claims) and includes, without limitation, loans, loan certificates and schuldscheine.

More Definitions of Alternative Investments

Alternative Investments means an investment in a private equity fund, venture fund, hedge fund or absolute return fund.

Alternative Investments means Assets that do not represent direct or indirect investments (through joint ventures or otherwise) in private Projects, including investments in (i) property debt instruments of Persons in which the Borrower does not have an equity or debt ownership interest, (ii) public company equity or debt securities or (iii) equity or debt securities issued by a private company that is substantially engaged in an operating business (other than any such Person that is controlled by the Borrower); provided that Alternative Investments shall not include Assets that are (x) participating mortgages granted by a non-public Person or (y) debt instruments that are convertible to equity at the option of the Borrower.
Alternative Investments means any indebtedness in respect of moneys borrowed or raised by the Issuer (other than in the form of Notes) on terms similar to the Notes (in particular as to limited recourse and extinguishment of claims), the terms of which may be governed by a law or laws other than English law, and includes, without limitation, loans, loan certificates, certificates and Schuldscheine.
