Ambient sound level definition

Ambient sound level means the reading on an integrating impulse sound level meter taken at a measuring point, in the absence of any alleged disturbing noise, at the end of a total period of at least 10 minutes after such meter was put into operation;
Ambient sound level means the ‘A’ weighted sound level at a point of reception, excluding the noise or sound which is the subject of an investigation for a potential contravention of this Part;
Ambient sound level means the reading on an integrating impulse ' sound level meter taken at a measuring point in the absence of any alleged disturbing noise at the end of a total period of at least 10 minutes after such meter was put into operation in terms of the Noise Control Regulations GR 2544 of 1990 in terms of Section 25 of the Environment Conservation Act No 73 of 1989.

More Definitions of Ambient sound level

Ambient sound level means the noise associated with a given environment, exclusive of a particular noise being tested, being usually a composite of sounds from many sources near and far, exclusive of intruding noises from isolated identifiable sources.
Ambient sound level means Background sound level.
Ambient sound level means the composite of normal or existing sound from all sources measured at a given location for a specified time of the day or night. The ambient sound level shall be measured with a sound level meter, using slow response and “A” weighting. The ambient sound level shall be determined with the sound source at issue silent.
Ambient sound level means the sound level that is present in the environment, produced by sound sources other than the source under assessment;
Ambient sound level means the Sound Level measured by a Tester at a Point of Reception, which excludes the noise generated by an activity with respect to which a complaint about noise has been made;
Ambient sound level means, the reading on an integrating impulse sound level meter taken
Ambient sound level means the composite of normal or existing sound from all sources measured at a given location. The ambient sound level shall be measured with a sound level Type 2 decibel meter, using slow response and A-weighting. The ambient sound level shall be determined with the intruding sound source(s) discontinued or stopped. A phone app decibel meter with Type 2 meter accuracy is an acceptable device to measure sound level.
