Black Person definition

Black Person means any such citizen;
Black Person is a generic term which means Africans, Coloureds and Indians-
Black Person in that Act means means “Africans, Coloureds and Indians— (a)who are citizens of the Republic of South Africa by birth or descent; or (b)who became citizens of the Republic of South Africa by naturalisation— (i)before 27 April 1994; or

More Definitions of Black Person

Black Person means a black person as defined in the Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment Act, 2003 (Act No. 53 of 2003);
Black Person means a black person as defined under the BEE Act and the BEE Codes (and "Black People" shall be construed accordingly) provided that if a person qualifies as a Black Person at the date of the acquisition by him/her of "A" Shares, he/she shall be deemed, in respect of the "A" Shares concerned, to be a Black Person notwithstanding any subsequent amendment of the BEE Act and/or BEE Codes after the date of such acquisition;
Black Person means "black people" (or comparable term) as defined from time to time under the BEE Legislation; provided that where the BEE Legislation contains more than one definition of "black people" (or comparable term) and such definitions are not the same, then the term "black people" shall mean (and be restricted to) the class of persons who satisfy the relevant criteria in every such definition. By way of summary and without in any way being construed as an interpretation of the Codes), "Black People" are defined under the BBBEE Act read with Schedule 1 of the Codes, as being African, Coloured (including Chinese) or Indian persons who are natural persons and who: (a) are citizens of South Africa by birth or descent; or (b) are citizens of South Africa by naturalisation before the commencement date of the Constitution of South Africa, Act 200 of 1993 ("Interim Constitution") or (c) became citizens of South Africa after the commencement date of the Interim Constitution, but who, but for the apartheid policy that had been in place prior to that date, would have been entitled to acquire citizenship by naturalisation prior to that date;
Black Person means a ‘black person’ as defined in the BEE Act and/or the Codes and/or any charter applicable to Sasol group of companies, whichever is the most stringent at the date of selling the Sasol BEE Ordinary Shares and “Black” shall be construed accordingly;
Black Person means “black people” as defined in the BEE Act (as read with the Codes of Good Practice) from time to time;
Black Person shall have the meaning ascribed to it under Code 000 of the Codes, being African, Coloured or Indian persons who are natural persons and citizens of the Republic of South Africa by birth, descent or naturalisation;
Black Person means the more stringent definition from time to time ascribed to it in the BEE Act, Codes or Charter, and which as at the Signature Date is the definition contained in the Codes namely Africans, Coloureds or Indians, and who are citizens of the Republic of South Africa by: 1.3.9.1. birth or descent; or 1.3.9.2. naturalisation occurring either: 1.3.9.2.1. before the commencement date of the Constitution; or 1.3.9.2.2. after the commencement date of the Constitution, but who, without the policy of apartheid, would have qualified for naturalisation before such commencement date;
