Category 1 activity definition

Category 1 activity means any formal education program which is sponsored or jointly sponsored by an organization accredited for continuing medical education by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the Iowa Medical Society, or the Council on Continuing Medical Education of AOA that is of sufficient scope and depth of coverage of a subject area or theme to form an educational unit and is planned, administered and evaluated in terms of educational objectives that define a level of knowledge or a specific performance skill to be attained by the physician completing the program. Activities designated as formal cognates by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists or as prescribed credit by the American Academy of Family Physicians are accepted as equivalent to category 1 activities.

Examples of Category 1 activity in a sentence

  • If an individual is not involved in a Category 1 activity during the school year, the penalty will be applied in the next level of activity the individual is involved in (i.e.: Category 2).

  • If an individual is involved in a Category 1 activity during the school year, the penalty will be applied during that activity.

  • Category 2 consists of service activities that require time and effort above and beyond that expected in the normal performance of a Category 1 activity in the same service group.

  • The VT ANR reserves the authority to enforce any violation of the Vermont Water Quality Standards that results from any Category 1 activity.

  • Restricted Activity means directly or indirectly owning any interest in, managing, controlling, participating in, consulting with, rendering services for, or in any manner engaging in any business with any customer, supplier, competitor or other person having a business relation with the Company or any of its subsidiaries; provided however that the term "Restricted Activity" shall not include passive ownership of not more than 2% of the outstanding stock of any class of a corporation which is publicly traded, so long as Executive has no active participation in the business of that corporation.
