Certified risk assessor means an individual who has been trained by a licensed training program as defined by this rule, or a training program which has been accredited by EPA or a state or Indian Tribal program which has been approved by EPA pursuant to 40 CFR Section 745.324, and the individual has been certified by the Department to conduct lead - based paint risk assessments and also sample for the presence of lead in dust and soil for the purpose of abatement clearance testing. A certified risk assessor must perform lead - based paint risk assessments and sampling for lead in dust and soil for the purposes of abatement clearance testing for a licensed contractor or consultant, or as an in-house employee.
