City Inspector definition

City Inspector means the person or persons employed or engaged as (an) independent contractor(s) by the City to inspect the performance of the work by the Contractor for compliance with the Contract Documents. He hereby is designated as an agent of the City for such purpose and no other. He is supervised by, and reports to, the City Engineer. The authority of the City Inspector to monitor the work shall be strictly limited to that authority specified herein, and no additional authority has been granted nor shall be inferred. The City Engineer may be designated as the City Inspector, in which case he shall perform the function and have the authority of both positions.
