Communications Protocol means the set of rules for information exchange to accomplish predefined tasks between a Windows Operating System Product and a server operating system product connected via a network, including, but not limited to, a local area network, a wide area network or the Internet. These rules govern the format, semantics, timing, sequencing, and error control of messages exchanged over a network.

Contribution means all Cash Contributions and In-kind Contributions a party makes to the Alliance, and includes any Background IP made available by a party to the Alliance or to an Approved Research Project. Deliverable means any deliverable created or required to be created in the course of an Approved Research Project, including the deliverables specified in the Project Order for the Approved Research Project.
