Constraint Energy definition

Constraint Energy means, for any hour during a BC Hydro System Constraint, the lesser of: (i) the amount of Energy that could have been generated and delivered to the POI in that hour but for the occurrence of a BC Hydro System Constraint, less any amount of Delivered Energy in the hour; and (ii) the Hourly Limit less any amount of Delivered Energy in that hour (which if a negative number will be deemed to be zero), except that Energy that could have been generated and delivered to the POI in an hour during a BC Hydro System Constraint resulting from or arising in connection with an Emergency Condition is not Constraint Energy. [Note: For storage hydro projects or projects with battery storage, this will also need to exclude any extra water or energy that was stored (and related future energy generation) as a result of the BC Hydro System Constraint.]

Examples of Constraint Energy in a sentence

  • The amounts of Turn-Down Energy or Constraint Energy (if any) in any hour will be determined using methodology satisfactory to the Buyer, acting reasonably, based on the best available information, including readings of the Meter before and after the occurrence of the Turn-Down Period or BC Hydro System Constraint, as applicable, and readings of any equipment that measures the Energy Source for the period while the Turn-Down Period or BC Hydro System Constraint, as applicable, was in effect.

  • The assessments done to establish Amended EPA prices relied on analysis of thermal energy generation that YEC would otherwise have been able to utilize to supply forecast loads on the YIS.▪ Given the basis for setting Amended EPA energy prices, YEC only pays for actual EPA deliveries (or Monthly Constraint Energy), and costs for any thermal energy generation required to replace failed EPA deliveries are expected to be similar to Amended EPA prices that would otherwise have been paid by YEC.

  • The amounts of Turn‐Down Energy or Constraint Energy (if any) in any hour will be determined using methodology satisfactory to the Buyer, acting reasonably, based on the best available information, including readings of the Meter before and after the occurrence of the Turn‐Down Period or BC Hydro System Constraint, as applicable, and readings of any equipment that measures the Energy Source for the period while the Turn‐Down Period or BC Hydro System Constraint, as applicable, was in effect.

  • Monthly Constraint Energy Although YEC will bear the cost for Monthly Constraint Energy (i.e., Delivered Energy that THELP could not deliver due to a Non-Permitted System Constraint caused by YEC or AEY) this risk is 44 The Additional Payment provisions use the latest approved YUB Price and ensure that the Additional Payment is at less than 100% of this YUB Price (see Section 2.4.3 of this Submission).
