Covered Official definition

Covered Official means a state or local candidate or official of a Government Entity, and will be construed to include any state or local political party committee, political committee (such as a PAC), or any other political organization exempt from federal income taxes under Section 527 of the Internal Revenue Code.
Covered Official means the governor, lieutenant governor, a member of the general assembly, any member of legislative council staff, a member of a rulemaking board or commission, or a rulemaking official of a state agency who has jurisdiction over the subject matter of a rule, standard, or rate.2
Covered Official means any employee or officer of any Governmental Entity, enterprise owned or controlled by any Governmental Entity, public international organization or political party; any person acting in an official capacity for, or on behalf of, any such entity; and any candidate for political office. “Covered Official” also includes any other person if an offer, promise or payment to or for the benefit of such person is intended to induce a person to act improperly in the performance of duties owed to another person, or to reward the person for having done so.

Covered Official shall have the meaning assigned to such term in the form of Shareholders Agreement attached as Exhibit F hereto.

Covered Official means any member of the Board of Commissioners of Spalding County and any person who has been appointed to a position by the Board of Commissioners of Spalding County including, but not limited to, the County Manager, the County Clerk, and any member of the Planning Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals, or any other appointed board. The County Attorney is subject to the Ethical Considerations and Disciplinary rules enacted by the State Bar of Georgia, and is also considered a covered official insofar as the application of this ordinance. However, enforcement shall be through the procedures as established by the State Bar of Georgia.
Covered Official means a person who is currently or formerly elected to Tribal office pursuant to the Nation’s Constitution and laws or a person who is currently or formerly duly appointed to a Tribal board, committee, or commission.
Covered Official means any person (including any election committee for the person) who was, at the time of the Contribution, an incumbent, candidate or successful candidate for elective office of a Government Entity if the office (i) is directly or indirectly responsible for, or can influence the outcome of, the hiring of an investment adviser by a Government Entity, or (ii) has authority to appoint any person who is directly or indirectly responsible for, or can influence the outcome of, the hiring of an investment adviser by a Government Entity. A candidate for federal office can fall within the scope of the definition of “Covered Official” if the candidate is currently a state or local government official.
