In addition to the said list, the Insurer may also include other treatment under the Day Care treatment as per their standard list.
The policy covers reasonable and customary charges in respect of Hospitalization (including Day Care treatment, or a treatment taken in a Day Care Centre) for medically necessary treatment only for injury sustained by the Insured Person(s) (including accidental dental injury) during the policy period due to an accident as defined in the Policy, upto the limit of Sum Insured, as stated in the Schedule, with no sub-limits of room rent, etc.

Day Care treatment. - A day care center means any institution established for day care treatment of illness and / or injuries or a medical set -up within a hospital and which has been registered with the local authorities, wherever applicable, and is under the supervision of a registered and qualified medical practitioner AND must comply with all minimum criteria as under:-
Day Care treatment means Medical Treatment and/or Surgical Procedure undertaken in a Hospital/Nursing Home/Day Care Centre under General or Local Anaesthesia, on the recommendation of a Medical Practitioner for diseases, illness or injury which require hospitalisation for less than 24 hours due to advancement in technology. This excludes all procedures or treatment taken in an Out Patient department.
Day Care treatment means treatment undertaken in a Hospital/ Nursing Home on the recommendation of a Medical Practitioner for the following diseases, illness or injury which requires hospitalisation for less than 24 hours and includes such of those treatments which require hospitalisation for less than 24 hours due to technologically advanced treatment protocol.
Day Care treatment means medical treatment, and/or surgical procedure which is:
a. Acute condition - Acute condition is a disease, illness or injury that is likely to respond quickly to treatment which aims to return the person to his or her state of health immediately before suffering the disease/ illness/ injury which leads to full recovery.
b. Chronic condition - A chronic condition is defined as a disease, illness, or injury that has one or more of the following characteristics:
i. undertaken under General or Local Anesthesia in a hospital/day care centre in less than 24 hrs because of technological advancement, and
ii. it needs ongoing or long-term monitoring through consultations, examinations, check-ups, and /or tests it needs ongoing or long-term control or relief of symptoms ii. which would have otherwise required hospitalization of more than 24 hours. Treatment normally taken on an out-patient basis is not included in the scope of this definition.
iii. it requires rehabilitation for the patient or for the patient to be specially trained to cope with it iv. it continues indefinitely
Day Care treatment means being admitted for treatment at a hospital where a member is admitted and occupies a bed, but does not remain overnight. • legal spouse, • unmarried child, stepchild or child legally adopted under 18 years attained, The term Partner shall mean husband, wife or the person living with you in a similarly legally constituted relationship Diagnostic tests/procedure means a medically necessary test or examination to investigate the cause of a member’s symptoms.
Day Care treatment means a partial confinement treatment program to provide treatment for you during the day. The hospital, psychiatric hospital or residential treatment facility does not make a room charge for day care treatment. Such treatment must be available for at least four hours, but not more than 12 hours in any 24-hour period.
