Education records definition

Education records means an education record as defined in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and its implementing regulations, 20 USC Section 1232g and 34 CFR Part 99, respectively.
Education records means the type of records covered under the definition of “education records” in 34 CFR Part 99 (the regulations implementing the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, 20 U.S.C. 1232g (FERPA)).
Education records means any information directly related to a student that is recorded in any manner (e.g., handwriting, print, computer media, video or audio tape, film, microfilm, and microfiche) and that is maintained by the school system or persons acting for the school system.

Examples of Education records in a sentence

  • To the extent required by law the LEA shall establish reasonable procedures by which a parent, legal guardian, or eligible student may review Education Records and/or Student Data correct erroneous information, and procedures for the transfer of student-generated content to a personal account, consistent with the functionality of services.

  • If the LEA has a policy of disclosing Education Records and/or Student Data under FERPA (34 CFR § 99.31(a)(1)), LEA shall include a specification of criteria for determining who constitutes a school official and what constitutes a legitimate educational interest in its annual notification of rights.

  • This includes appropriate space that is away from distractions, facilities, appropriate size furniture, and a locked filing cabinet for Special Education Records in accordance with FERPA Privacy Law.

  • For purposes of this DPA, Education Records are referred to as Student Data.

  • De-Identified Information (DII): De-Identification refers to the process by which the Contractor removes or obscures any Personally Identifiable Information ("PII") from Education Records in a way that removes or minimizes the risk of disclosure of the identity of the individual and information about them.
