Expunge definition

Expunge means the removal of the information contained in a Message document such that the content of the Message is removed from the system in a manner which precludes its retrieval (but with no obligation in respect of the record of its receipt);
Expunge means to destroy, delete, and erase a record as appropriate for the record's physical or electronic form or characteristic so that the record is permanently irretrievable.
Expunge means to seal or otherwise restrict access to the individual's record held by an agency when the record includes a criminal investigation, detention, arrest, or conviction.
