Gasification facility definition

Gasification facility means a facility located in this state that, using a thermochemical process that does not involve direct combustion, produces synthesis gas, composed of carbon monoxide and hydrogen, from carbon-based feedstocks (such as coal, petroleum coke, wood, biomass, hazardous waste, medical waste, industrial waste, and solid waste, including, but not limited to, municipal solid waste, electronic waste, and waste described in section 11514 of the natural resources and environmental protection act, 1994 PA 451, MCL 324.11514) and that uses the synthesis gas or a mixture of the synthesis gas and methane to generate electricity for commercial use. Gasification facility includes the transmission lines, gas transportation lines and facilities, and associated property and equipment specifically attributable to such a facility. Gasification facility includes, but is not limited to, an integrated gasification combined cycle facility and a plasma arc gasification facility.
Gasification facility means a facility that receives, separates, stores, and converts post-use polymers and recoverable feedstocks using gasification. A gasification facility is not a sanitary disposal project, solid waste disposal facility, or processing facility.
Gasification facility means a facility that processes nonrecycled feedstock by heating and converting the feedstock only into a fuel−gas mixture in an oxygen−deficient, noncom- bustible atmosphere and converting the mixture only into fuel, including ethanol and transportation fuel, chemicals, or other chemical feedstock.

Examples of Gasification facility in a sentence

  • Importantly, the CO2 capture system that is used in the Dakota Gasification facility can readily be used in an IGCC EGU.

  • The old Red Deer Operating Centre was removed from utility service on April 18, 2005 concurrent with the completion and occupation of AGN’s new Red Deer facility.

  • In the Dakota Gasification facility, the syngas is processed through a catalytic methanation process where the CO and H2 react to produce CH4 (methane, synthetic natural gas) and water.

  • As with the IGCC gasification system, the Dakota Gasification facility gasifies coal (lignite) to produce a syngas which is then shifted to increase the concentration of CO2 and to produce the desired ratio of CO and H2.

  • Summit has announced that they expect to commence construction on the project in 2015.225 The facility will utilize the Linde Rectisol® gas cleanup process to capture carbon dioxide 226—the same process that has been deployed for decades, including at the Dakota Gasification facility, a clear indication of the developer’s confidence in that technology and further evidence that the Dakota Gasification carbon capture technology is transferable to EGUs.
