High Definition definition

High Definition means Linear Broadcast of Television Channel in any resolution that is 1080 vertical lines of resolution or less (but at least 720 vertical lines of resolution) and 1920 lines of horizontal resolution or less (but at least 1280 lines of horizontal resolution).
High Definition or “HD” means any resolution that is (a) 1080 vertical lines of resolution or less (but at least 720 vertical lines of resolution) and (b) 1920 lines of horizontal resolution or less (but at least 1280 lines of horizontal resolution).
High Definition means any resolution that is (a) 1080 vertical lines of resolution or less (but at least 720 vertical lines of resolution) and (b) 1920 lines of horizontal resolution or less (but at least 1280 lines of horizontal resolution).

Examples of High Definition in a sentence

  • In accordance with industry agreements, all Approved Devices manufactured and sold (by the original manufacturer) after December 31, 2011 shall limit (e.g. down-scale) analogue outputs for decrypted protected Included Programs to standard definition at a resolution no greater than 720X480 or 720 X 576, i.e. shall disable High Definition (HD) analogue outputs.

  • All the requirements for High Definition content also apply to all Stereoscopic 3D content.

  • Streaming of High Definition (HD) content over SSL is not permitted unless explicitly authorized by Licensor elsewhere in this Agreement.

  • Notwithstanding the foregoing, a digital signal may be output if it is protected and encrypted by High Definition Copy Protection (“HDCP”) or Digital Transmission Copy Protection (“DTCP”) or Windows Media DRM for Network Devices (WMDRM-ND), Windows PlayReady DRM, or Licensee’s proprietary Conditional Access System.

  • Notwithstanding the foregoing, all VOD Included Films licensed by Licensee for exhibition on the Push VOD Service shall be deemed authorized for exhibition in High Definition in addition to Standard Definition on the Push VOD Service.


More Definitions of High Definition

High Definition means any resolution that is 720p or higher, but in no event higher than 1080p.
High Definition means resolutions higher than 345,600 viewable pixels, in the case of NTSC, or 414,720 viewable pixels, in the case of PAL, but no greater than 2,073,600 viewable pixels, in the case of either NTSC or PAL.

The following is added as Section 1.7[a] of Schedule A of the Agreement:
