Home Healthcare definition

Home Healthcare means healthcare services given by a Home Healthcare agency under a Physician’s orders in the person’s home. It is care given to persons who are homebound for medical reasons and physically not able to obtain necessary medical care on an outpatient basis. A Home Healthcare agency must be licensed by the state where it is located.

Examples of Home Healthcare in a sentence

• Medical supplies ordered by a Healthcare Provider and provided by the Home Healthcare Agency.

• Physical, occupational, or speech therapy if provided by the Home Healthcare Agency.

• Covered Services include services given to a Member in his home by a licensed Home Healthcare Provider or an approved Hospital program for Home Healthcare.

• Home Healthcare enables the Covered Person to receive treatment in his home for an Illness or Injury instead of being confined in a Hospital or Extended Care Facility.
