Landmark tree means those trees identified in EGMC Section 19.12.030 (Landmark trees).
Landmark tree or "landmark grove" means existing tree(s) on public or private property that has been found to be a notable horticultural specimen, or is of significant aesthetic, cultural or historical value, and is designated as such by resolution of the city council, upon recommendation of the planning commission or parks and recreation commission of the city. Landmark tree means a tree or grove of trees designated by resolution of the board of supervisors to be of historical or cultural value, an outstanding specimen, an unusual species and/or of significant community benefit. Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, a tree that is not native to California may be designated as a landmark tree.
