Local Business definition

Local Business means a business serving as a contractor as defined in Business and Professions Code section 7026 or a business supplying construction-related materials that has its principal headquarters or permanently staffed regional office and that has held a business license within the zip codes listed above for Local Hire for a minimum of three months prior to the date the entity submits a bid, contract, or proposal for a Public Project. A Local Business contractor must also be properly registered with the Department of Industrial Relations in accordance with Labor Code section 1725.5. Local Business shall also mean any state or nationally certified minority-owned, women-owned, or disabled veteran business that has performed work for the District or other public agency within the zip codes listed above for Local Hire during the past four years. Certification for a disabled veteran business must be provided to the District. Local Business shall also mean a business that participates in an internship program that is currently approved or recognized by the District. The entity may also apply to obtain District approval of its internship program. The internship program must be approved by the District and must be completed by the end of the specific Public Project or by the next semester immediately after completion of the specific Public Project. Local Business shall also mean any entity that uses apprentices from a District approved apprenticeship program.
Local Business means a business which meets the following criteria:
Local Business means a Person, including a foreign corporation authorized to transact business in Illinois, having a bona fide establishment located within the County at which it is transacting business on the date when a Bid is submitted to the County, and which employs the majority of its regular, full-time work force within the County. A Joint Venture shall constitute a Local Business if one or more Persons that qualify as a "Local Business" hold interests totaling over 50 percent in the Joint Venture, even if the Joint Venture does not, at the time of the Bid submittal, have such a bona fide establishment within the County.

  • The provisions of Paragraph 4 will apply, except that, pending the resolution of a dispute, transfer of the undisputed Value of Eligible Credit Support or Credit Support Balance involved in the relevant demand will be due as provided in Paragraph 4 if the demand is made at or before the Notification Time but will be due on the second Local Business Day after the demand if the demand is made after the Notification Time.

  • The Valuation Agent will notify each party (or the other party, if the Valuation Agent is a party) of its calculations not later than the Notification Time on the Local Business Day following the applicable Valuation Date (or, in the case of Paragraph 4(a), following the date of calculation).

  • In the event such emergency continues, a return to craft line operation will be made as soon as contact between the Contractor and Local Business Agent is feasible.

  • Following a recalculation pursuant to this Paragraph, the Valuation Agent will notify each party (or the other party, if the Valuation Agent is a party) as soon as possible but in any event not later than the Notification Time on the Local Business Day following the Resolution Time.

Local Business as used in this policy means a company that has an ongoing business within geographical boundaries of SCAQMD at the time of bid or proposal submittal and performs 90% of the work related to the contract within the geographical boundaries of SCAQMD and satisfies the requirements of subparagraph H below.
Local Business means, for the purposes of this section:
Local Business means a lawful business with a physical address and meaningful “production capability” located within the boundary of the County of Santa Clara. The term “production capability” means sales, marketing, manufacturing, servicing, provision of services, or research and development capability that substantially and directly enhances the firm's or bidder's ability to perform the proposed contract. Post Office box numbers, residential addresses, a local sales office without any support and/or a local subcontractor hired by the contractor may not be used as the sole basis for establishing status as a “Local Business.”
Local Business means a business entity that occupies work space within the County, is in compliance with all applicable City and County licensing and tax laws, and can demonstrate one of the following: (1) it is headquartered in the County and physically conducts and manages all of its operations from a location in the County; (2) that at least 50 of its full time employees perform work within the boundaries of the County at least 60 percent of their total regular hours worked on an annual basis; or (3) that at least half of the full-time employees (50%) of the business work within the boundaries of the County at minimum of 60 percent of their total, regular hours worked on an annual basis.

Proposals for legislative representation, such as in Sacramento, California or Washington D.C. are not eligible for local business incentive points.
