main road definition

main road means a road designated and classified as main road by regulations made under section 3(2) of the Roads Act;
main road means a road declared by proclamation to be a main road for the purposes of this Act, and includes any part thereof;
main road means a proclaimed road declared to be a main road in terms of the provisions of section 23;

More Definitions of main road

main road. ’ means a road which has been classified as a main road in terms of section 5(2)(a) or 9(1), or is regarded as a main road in terms of section 9(6); ‘‘mining operations’’ means any operation relating to the act of mining and matters directly incidental thereto;
main road means a public road which is a main road in terms of any law in force in the province in which the road in question is situate, or any public road which has been constructed or has at any time been maintained by or under the authority of an Administrator by means of funds at his disposal, and from which he has not withdrawn his control: Provided that any public road on which any labour has been expended shall, for the purposes of this Act, be deemed to be a main road, unless it is proved not to be a main road;
main road means a special road, trunk road or a road classified as a principal road within the meaning of the Highways Act 1980 or the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984;
main road means a highway that—
main road means an inter regional road which caters for the inter- urban as well as inter-district traffic; and
main road. ’ means a road which has been categorised as a main road under section 7(1)(b) or (4), or is regarded as a main road in terms of section 8(3); ‘‘mining operations’’ means any operation relating to the act of mining and matters directly incidental thereto; 10
