Maximum allowable working pressure means the maximum gage pressure permissible at the top of a completed ves- sel in its operating position for a designated temperature.

Maximum allowable working pressure or "MAWP" means the maximum gauge pressure permissible (in accordance with the design requirements) at the top of a vessel in its operating position at the design temperature.
