Merit Marks definition

Merit Marks or “Percentage of Marks” means the total External marks obtained by the candidate in his/her University examination only divided by total External Marks and multiplied by 100;
Merit Marks or “Percentage of Marks” means the total marks obtained by the student in his/her board in theory subjects (papers) only, which will be divided by total marks of theory subjects (papers) multiplied by 100;

Examples of Merit Marks in a sentence

  • A candidate shall be eligible for the Sports Merit Marks only after the completion of his/her performance in the event and the marks so allotted shall be counted for his/her appearance at the respective Semester/Term/Annual exam only.

  • A student failing in a particular Paper(s)/Subject(s), whether in theory or practical or both, the Sports Merit Marks shall be added to that Paper(s)/Subject(s) and indicated by a hash (#), after which the general grace marks will be added and indicated by a dollar ($).

  • For example, if a student has scored 495 marks out of total of 900 marks in B.A./B.Sc., his normalized aggregate marks (out of 2400) would be :- 495 x 2400/900 = 1320 out of 2400These marks will be denoted by X and called the Basic Merit Marks.

  • In the event of the student being unable to utilise the Sports Merit Marks the same can be carried forward to the subsequent appearance of the same examination.

  • She/he shall be eligible for the Sports Merit Marks only after the completion of her/his performance in the event and the marks so allotted shall be counted for her/his appearance at the respective Semester Examination only.

  • In case of a student failing in a particular course(s), whether in theory or practical or both, the Sports Merit Marks shall be added to that course(s) as per (ii) above and indicated by a hash (#) tag.

  • A candidate shall be eligible for Sports Merit Marks only after the completion of his/her performance in the event and the marks so allotted shall be counted for his/her first appearance at the respective Semester / term / Annual exam only.

  • The rewards are described more fully in the document ‘Guide to Rewards’ and include: • Verbal praise; • Merit Marks; • Praise Emails; • Letters/emails home; • ‘Cookie vouchers’; Front of Queue vouchers • Public praise in assembly; • Excellent Learning referral to Headmaster • Awards and certificates presented in assembly; • Privileges and responsibilities (e.g. position of Prefect or Buddy); • Honours, colours and prizes awarded at Final Assembly; • Prizes at Prize Giving.

  • Sanctions or penalties under this ordinance may not be invoked without a public hearing if requested by the applicant.

  • Other benefits such as Sports Merit Marks, Duty Leave, Practice Allowance, Travelling Allowance and Kit Allowance as per the guidelines of the University are provided to the students.

  • Marks means any and all trademarks, service marks, trade names, taglines, company names, and logos, including unregistered and common-law rights in the foregoing, and rights under registrations of and applications to register the foregoing.

  • Trade name means the name of the Hotel set forth in the Addendum.
