mesh size definition

mesh size means the mesh size of fishing nets as determined in accordance with Commission Regulation (EC) No 517/20081;
mesh size means the measured distance between one vertical side of a mesh unit and the opposite vertical side of the same mesh unit when the netting is pulled taut.
mesh size means the number of openings per (linear) inch of mesh;

More Definitions of mesh size

mesh size means the total length of twine measured along two contiguous sides of a single mesh, including the distance across the knot joining those sides but not including any other knots.
mesh size means the mesh size of fishing nets as defined in Article 6, point (34) of Regulation (EU) 2019/1241 of the European Parliament and of the Council11;
mesh size means the opening between opposing knots. Minimum mesh size means the smallest distance allowed between the inside of one knot to the inside of the opposing knot regardless of twine size;¶
mesh size means the total length of twine measured along two contiguous sides of a single mesh, including the distance across the knot joining those sides but not including any other knots. Where a minimum mesh size is prescribed, no person shall use any device by means of which openings that are smaller in size than the original mesh are created. Mesh size shall be measured when the net is wet.
mesh size means the measurement from knot to knot across the diagonal of the tightly stretched wet mesh;
mesh size means the size of the opening or space within a polygon formed by the wire of a crab trap, to be measured at the largest dimension across such opening or space in an undistorted condition.
mesh size means the size of an individual mesh in a fishing net measured by the distance between the inside of one knot to the outside of the opposite vertical knot of one (1) mesh when the mesh is stretched vertically while using a tension of ten (10) pounds is applied to any three (3) consecutive meshes, and then measuring the middle of three (3) meshes.
