Multiple Listing Service definition

Multiple Listing Service. A means for collecting and disseminating information about real property that is or has been for sale, including a means for real estate brokers to make offers of cooperation and compensation to each other. Multiple Listing Services may also include, without limitation, the provision of data processing, technical support, consulting, and other information technology services to real estate brokers and appraisers in connection with the sale and appraisal of real property.
Multiple Listing Service or “MLS” means a cooperative venture by which real estate brokers serving a common market area submit their listings to a central service which, in turn, distributes the information for the purpose of fostering cooperation in and facilitating real estate transactions.
Multiple Listing Service or "MLS" shall mean a facility through which Participants share information about real property listed for sale or rent, or that has been sold or rented, for such purposes as are permitted in the Members' MLS Rules and Regulations.
