Permanent Disablement definition

Permanent Disablement means a disability falling under one of the items of disablement listed in the scale of compensation in this Policy under Section 1, which was caused by an Accident, as long as the disability lasts for twelve (12) consecutive months from the date of the Accident and at the expiry of that period our appointed Registered Medical Practitioner confirms that the disability is not going to improve after twelve (12) months.
Permanent Disablement means, in relation to an Eligible Person, that the Eligible Person has, in the opinion of the Board, after considering such medical and other evidence as it sees fit, become incapacitated to such an extent as to render the Eligible Person unlikely ever to engage in any occupation for which he is reasonably qualified by education, training or experience;
Permanent Disablement means Injury which having lasted for a continuous period of 12 months from the date of the Accident, with no hope of improvement and will in all probability continue for the rest of the Insured Person’s life.

Examples of Permanent Disablement in a sentence

  • Unless otherwise stated in the Policy Schedule, compensation payable in respect of Accidental Death or Permanent Disablement occurring whilst a number of Insured Person are travelling in the same conveyance shall be limited to a maximum of RM 2,500,000.

  • Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD) TPD cover protects you financially if you become permanently unable to work because of injury or illness.

  • Permanent Disablement wholly preventing the Person from engaging in or giving attention to the Person’s usual business profession or occupation caused other than by Loss of Limb or Eye which disablement lasts without interruption for more than 12 months from the date of the Accidental Bodily Injury.

  • The premium for this benefit will be adjusted to reflect the reduction in the Universal Total and Permanent Disablement Sum Insured.

  • The definitions available under the Double TPD benefit are: • Own Occupation* • Any Occupation • Universal (Occupation Category E only) • Home Duties *If you select a Superannuation Plan, the Total and Permanent Disablement (Own Occupation) definition is only available if you also select a Linked Benefit (Superannuation PLUS or Maximiser – see Sections 9.2 and 9.3).


More Definitions of Permanent Disablement

Permanent Disablement means when injury does not result in death to You within (365) days from the Date of Accident but result in 100% absolute disablement from engaging in or giving attention to a profession or occupation of any kind.
Permanent Disablement means Injury which:
Permanent Disablement means you have lost either: all sight in one or both eyes, or the use of a hand or foot at or above the wrist or ankle, and the loss is for at least 12 months and in our opinion after consultation with an appropriate medical specialist, that loss will continue indefinitely.

Permanent Disablement means disablement (other than that specified above) which entirely prevents the Insured Person from attending to any occupation or profession and having lasted a continuous period of at least 104 weeks and beyond any reasonable hope of improvement. Pre-existing Illness shall mean disabilities or conditions that You have reasonable knowledge of. You may be considered to have reasonable knowledge of a pre-existing condition if:
Permanent Disablement means Injury having lasted for a continuous period of twelve (12) months from the date of the Accident, and medically certified that there is no hope of improvement at the end of the said period.
Permanent Disablement means those items specified under Benefit 3 (i) to (viii)
