POST Basic Certificate definition

POST Basic Certificate. A California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training certificate awarded to a peace officers who has satisfactorily demonstrated proficiency as a California Peace Officer. This proficiency is a result of satisfactorily completing a 12 month probation period in which the Chief must sign a POS Basic Certificate application for award.
