Probationary appointment definition

Probationary appointment means employment for a designated period of time during which the probationer is evaluated as a candidate to be awarded tenure. In the event an academic employee is employed full-time as a temporary academic employee and the next year with a probationary appointment as an academic employee, the consecutive College quarters in which the individual was so employed full-time shall be credited towards tenure consideration.
Probationary appointment means an appointment which is without continuing appointment status and which is neither a soft money nor non-renewable fixed length appointment. Probationary appointees may be removed subject to the provisions of this Article; Article 7,
Probationary appointment means an appointment without tenure or continuing contract. A faculty member having a probationary appointment shall be reappointed or non-reappointed as provided for in this Article. Probationary appointment means an appointment by the board held by a faculty member during the period which may pre- cede a decision on a tenure appointment.
