In the event of a layoff in the Social Work Department or in the Recreational Therapy Department, temporary employees shall be laid off first, then probationary employees before either full-time or regular part-time employees.
In the event a full time or regular part time, permanent, non –probationary employee is scheduled to be laid off form the Social Work or the Recreational Therapy Department, he/she may displace another employee within the department on the basis of department seniority, provided he /she is qualified to perform said job.
In the event an employee from the Social Work or the Recreational Therapy Department who is scheduled to be laid off cannot displace another employee with the department, he/she will have one opportunity to displace a less senior bargaining unit employee in a job within this bargaining unit they previously held, provided the employee has maintained current competencies in the former position.
