Rest and Meal Periods. (a) There shall be fifteen (15) minute rest period in each half of any full shift. Employees working less than a full shift, but a minimum of four (4) hours, will receive one (1) fifteen (15) minute paid rest period.

Meal periods are counted as hours worked unless the employee is completely relieved of all duties during the meal period and is free to leave the duty post. Supervisors will make a reasonable effort to provide a meal period either paid or unpaid to employees scheduled to work five (5) or more consecutive hours in one (1) work day. An unpaid meal period will normally be at least 30 minutes long.
