Over the years, we have had many requests for a playground for children to enjoy while with their families in Wenonah Park during events. The City desires to continue to utilize the Park for community recreational purposes and as an outdoor venue for the presentation of concerts, plays, displays, exhibits and other cultural events. The addition of such play area will add to the many attractions in the Park, such as the Pavilion, Band Shell, Riverwalk, etc. As much as the City appreciates the addition of the play equipment, the Park's Department cannot bear the maintenance expenses of the playground equipment. This agreement confirms that the DDA agrees to assist the City with maintenance costs for the play area on a yearly basis, as the City is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and keeping it in good condition after the play area is constructed and installed. This agreement states that the DDA shall contribute the sum of $5,000 per year to the City to defray maintenance costs by having it as a budgetary item. This agreement will be in place for twenty years.

This PSA will allow faster approval for testing needed for trench backfill for water and sewer breaks, as well as construction items. It also establishes standard rates, making invoicing and budgeting more accurate. Other companies have been used in the past, but SME has proven to invoice lower prices and be more responsive and available than the other firms. They consistently provide qualified staff, even with short notice. SME is also a Bay City-based company, however outside the City limits in Bangor Township.
