Right of Refusal definition

Right of Refusal. Any unit member shall have the right to reject any offer or request for overtime, call back, Call-In Time or On-Call Time. If everyone in the department refuses the request, the overtime shall be assigned by the supervisor as equally as is practicable within each department, and the overtime shall be accepted by the unit member. However, in an emergency that requires immediate attention and an individual unit member has specific expertise to address the emergency, the right of refusal cannot be exercised by the unit member.
Right of Refusal. Any bargaining unit member shall have the right to reject any offer or request by their supervisor/District Administrator to work overtime, extra time, or call back except in cases of emergency which is defined as short-term, non-recurring incident(s) requiring the attention of the employee.
Right of Refusal. Any faculty member who has initially authored an online course shall have first right of refusal to teach that course for the first four years after the course is developed. In order to exercise this right, the faculty author is responsible for submitting a written notice to the appropriate supervisor expressing a willingness to accept the specific teaching assignment. This notice shall be given prior to March 1 to exercise this right for the following academic year, or notice shall be given the term prior to teaching the course if the course is taught during the same academic year that it has been developed.
