Safety-sensitive function definition

Safety-sensitive function means all time from the time a driver begins to work or is required to be in readiness to work until the time he/she is relieved from work and all responsibility for performing work.
Safety-sensitive function means a job function or duty where a Covered Employee either: (1) is operating a vehicle during paid work time on more than fifty-percent (50%) of the Covered Employee’s work days on average over the prior three (3) months. Vacation, sick leave, administrative leave time and all other leave shall be excluded when determining whether a Covered Employee operates a vehicle on more than fifty-percent (50%) of his or her work days; or, (2) is actually operating, ready to operate, or immediately available to operate Equipment other than a vehicle during the course of the Covered Employee’s paid work time.
Safety-sensitive function means the operation of a vehicle (including, but not limited to, any City owned or personal vehicles used during the course of the employee’s work day), power tools, vessel, device(s), mechanism(s), or equipment that is utilized to change the elevation of the employee.
