Service Seniority definition
Service Seniority means an employee’s length of service with the Employer. Employees shall be credited with seniority equivalent to their length of continuous service with the Employer prior to the signing of this Agreement. Service seniority for part-time employees shall be prorated on the basis of one (1) year’s service seniority based on the equivalent annual hours of work for a full-time employee.
Service Seniority means the length of continuous service as a regular Employee of the Institute. An Employee transferred to the Pacific Vocational Institute from the public service on April 1, 1978, shall retain his/her length of service seniority in the Institute. Regular Employees in the Public Service of British Columbia as of June 30, 1974, shall be credited with service seniority equivalent to their length of continuous service as a permanent Employee or their length of service as a continuous temporary Employee with the Employer prior to that date.

When a full employee complement at any location is not required on a holiday, the 8 day off will be offered on a Passenger Service Seniority basis within the 9 classification and duty assignment.
