Severance from Service Date definition

Severance from Service Date means the earlier of:
Severance from Service Date means the earlier of (a) the date on which an Employee quits, retires, is discharged or dies; or (b) the twelve (12) month anniversary of the date an Employee is first absent (with or without pay) for any reason other than quit, retirement, discharge or death (such as vacation, holiday, sickness, disability, leave of absence or layoff).

Examples of Severance from Service Date in a sentence

  • The period commencing on any Severance from Service Date and ending on the date an Employee is again credited with an Hour of Service for the performance of duties for the Employer.

  • The rights of any other individual shall be governed by the Plan as in effect upon his Severance from Service Date, except to the extent expressly provided in any amendment adopted subsequently thereto.

  • A Participant who incurs a Severance from Service Date for reasons other than death or Total Disability shall have his nonforfeitable interest in his Account paid to him or applied for his benefit in accordance with the provisions of this Article.

  • If a Participant who is an Employee suffers a Total Disability and has a Severance from Service Date due to his Total Disability, his Account shall be paid to him or applied for his benefit in accordance with the provisions of this Article following the determination of his Total Disability and his Severance from Service Date.

  • The period of Service commencing on an Employee’s Employment Commencement Date or Re-employment Commencement Date, whichever is applicable, and ending on the Employee’s Severance from Service Date.

Severance from Service Date means the date, as recorded on the records of a Participating Company or an Affiliated Company, on which an Employee of such company quits, retires, is discharged, or dies, or, if earlier, the first anniversary of the first day of a period during which the Employee remains absent from service with all Participating Companies and Affiliated Companies (with or without pay) for any other reason, except:

Severance from Service Date means the earlier of the date of the Employee's Separation From Service, or the first anniversary of the date on which the Employee is absent from service (with or without pay) for any reason other than his Separation From Service or a Maternity or Paternity Absence, such as vacation, holiday, sickness, or leave of absence. The Severance From Service Date of an Employee who is absent beyond the first anniversary of his first day of absence by reason of a Maternity or Paternity Absence is the second anniversary of the first day of the absence.

Severance from Service Date means the earlier of (a) the date the Employee quits, retires, is discharged, or dies, or (b) the first anniversary of the first date of a period in which an Employee is absent for any other reason; provided, however, that an Employee shall not experience a Severance from Service Date while the Employee is on lay-off or Leave of Absence if the Employee returns to Employment immediately following the end of the lay-off or Leave of Absence. If the Employee does not return to Employment immediately following the end of the lay-off or Leave of Absence, such Employee shall be deemed to have had a Severance from Service Date as of his first day of absence due to lay-off or Leave of Absence.
Severance from Service Date means the date which is the earlier of the date on which an Employee voluntarily leaves (quits) employment, retires, is discharged or dies, or the first anniversary of the first date the Employee is absent for any other reason. However, for purposes of Maternity or Paternity Leave of Absence, Severance from Service Date of an Employee who is absent beyond the first anniversary of such absence means the second anniversary of the first date of such absence. The period between the first and second anniversary of a Maternity or Paternity Leave of Absence is neither a Period of Service nor a Period of Severance.
