Solar collector definition

Solar collector means a device, structure or a part of a device or structure a substantial purpose of which is to transform solar energy into thermal, mechanical, chemical or electrical energy.
Solar collector means a device or structural feature of a building that collects solar energy and that is part of a system for the collection, storage, and distribution of solar energy. For purposes of this chapter, a greenhouse is a solar collector.
Solar collector means any device used to collect sunlight that is part of a system used to convert radiant energy from the sun into thermal or electrical energy.

More Definitions of Solar collector

Solar collector means a liquid filled flat plate or evacuated tube solar collector;
Solar collector means a device designed to absorb global solar irradiance and to transfer the heat energy so produced to a fluid passing through it;
Solar collector means any of the following:
Solar collector means a solar thermal collector or photovoltaic module.
Solar collector means a device designed to absorb global solar irradiance and to transfer the heat energy so produced to a fluid passing through it; it is characterised by the collector aperture area, the zero-loss efficiency, the first order coefficient, the second-order coefficient and the incidence angle modifier;
Solar collector means a piece of equipment designed to absorb solar radiation as a source of energy for generating electricity (solar photovoltaic) or heating (solar thermal system).
Solar collector means any device used to collect direct sunlight for use in the heating or cooling of a structure, domestic hot water, or swimming pool, or the generation of electricity.
